Andrew Connelly is a freelance journalist and writer on politics, human rights, international affairs and culture. He is based in London but travels as much as possible.

With the goal of highlighting issues in lesser-known parts of the world, in 2012 he wrote about evictions of Roma communities in Serbia, reported from the Eurovision Song Contest in Azerbaijan and investigated religious freedoms in Belarus.

Work has appeared in The Sunday Telegraph, Index on Censorship, The Independent, The Independent on SundayThe Hackney Citizen, Press Gazette and Cafebabel.com amongst others.
